How IronField Vets Directory Listings
The IronField directory exists to connect homeowners with contractors and suppliers who actually understand systems-first planning — not to be a paid link farm. Here's exactly what we check, what each badge means, and what gets a listing removed.
Every Listing: Initial Review
Every application — free, Featured, or Pro — is manually reviewed before it goes live. We confirm the business is real (a working website or verifiable contact information, a legitimate service area, and trades that match what's claimed) and that the application reflects a systems-first approach rather than lowest-price positioning. Applications that look incomplete, generic, or unverifiable are rejected or held for follow-up, not published by default.
IronField Verified: What's Actually Checked
The IronField Verified badge is a separate, optional step on top of the initial review. To earn it, a listing submits — and we confirm — three things:
- An active business license number
- Active insurance coverage (provider and policy information)
- At least one verifiable reference or completed project
Verified status is recorded with an internal note on what was checked and when. It can be revoked if information turns out to be inaccurate or a license or insurance policy lapses.
Featured & Pro: Paid Placement, Not Vetting
Featured ($49 CAD/mo) and Pro ($199 CAD/mo, includes matched leads) are placement and lead-volume tiers — they affect where a listing appears and how many leads it receives. They do not affect approval, and they do not grant Verified status. A contractor can pay for Featured placement and never earn the Verified badge, and a free listing can be Verified. We keep these deliberately separate so the badge means something.
What Gets a Listing Removed
Listings can be suspended or removed for: inaccurate license, insurance, or contact information; unresolved complaints from homeowners who used the listing to find that business; or misrepresenting trades, service area, or the work actually performed.
