How IronField Vets Directory Listings

A new application — free, Featured, or Pro — goes live immediately, without a manual pre-publish review. That's deliberate: it lets a real business get discoverable right away instead of waiting in a queue. The tradeoff is that a plain "Listed" badge on its own is not an IronField endorsement— it means the information was compiled or submitted, not that we've confirmed it. We do review listings after the fact, and remove or suspend ones that turn out to be inaccurate or misrepresented — see What Gets a Listing Removed below. If you want a specific business checked more closely before you hire, look for the Verified badge, not just a listing's presence in the directory.

The IronField Verified badge is a separate, optional step on top of the initial review. To earn it, a listing submits — and we confirm — three things:

• An active business license number
• Active insurance coverage (provider and policy information)
• At least one verifiable reference or completed project

Verified status is recorded with an internal note on what was checked and when. It can be revoked if information turns out to be inaccurate or a license or insurance policy lapses.

Featured ($49 CAD/mo) and Pro ($199 CAD/mo, includes matched leads) are placement and lead-volume tiers — they affect where a listing appears and how many leads it receives. They do not grant Verified status. A contractor can pay for Featured or Pro placement and never earn the Verified badge, and a free listing can be Verified. We keep placement and verification as separate signals so the Verified badge means something on its own.

When a homeowner submits a project through Get Matched or the cost estimator, we match it against listings by trade, service area, and country. Being honest about the current gate: an active Featured or Pro subscription is what determines whether a listing receives the homeowner's full contact detailsfor that match — this is not currently additionally gated on Verified status. A Featured or Pro listing that hasn't earned Verified can still receive a full matched lead; an unclaimed, free listing cannot. If you specifically want a business confirmed on license, insurance, and references before you reach out, check for the Verified badge on their profile rather than assuming a match implies that check happened.

Listings can be suspended or removed for: inaccurate license, insurance, or contact information; unresolved complaints from homeowners who used the listing to find that business; or misrepresenting trades, service area, or the work actually performed.
