Why It's Worth Considering for a Rural or Barndominium Build
Two things make this more relevant on a rural build than a standard subdivision home:

One Real Limitation
The monitor needs a home Wi-Fi connection and a smartphone for remote alerts — it doesn't have its own cellular backup. If your rural property has weak or unreliable Wi-Fi in the mechanical room, the local audible siren will still work on battery power, but you won't get a phone notification until connectivity is restored. Worth testing signal strength in your actual mechanical room location before you commit to relying on it while you're off-property.
