Decisions that make or break this plan
Zone by room use
Bedrooms, living, and shop want different temperatures. Draw the zones onto the plan before the tubing layout.
Place the mechanical room centrally
Shorter manifold runs mean less heat loss and less tubing.
Match flooring to the heat
Thick carpet and some hardwoods insulate the slab. Pick flooring with the heating in mind.

Can I add radiant heat after the slab is poured?
Not in the slab itself. In-floor tubing goes in before the pour, which is why it belongs in the floor plan stage.
